5. PAYMENT TERMS
5.1 Payment Schedule
• Deposit: 50% of the total project cost is required before work commences
• Progress payments as agreed in the project contract
• Final payment due upon completion and client satisfaction
• Payment terms: Net 15 days from invoice date
5.2 Payment Methods
• Bank transfer (preferred)

• Cash (for amounts under £500)
• Credit/debit cards may be accepted for deposits
5.3 Late Payments
• Interest charged at 2% per month on overdue amounts
• We reserve the right to suspend work for non-payment
• Collection costs may be added to overdue accounts
6. MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP
6.1 Materials
• We source high-quality materials from reputable suppliers
• Material specifications will be agreed upon before project commencement
• Client-supplied materials are used at the client’s risk
• We are not responsible for defects in client-supplied materials
6.2 Workmanship Warranty
• 12-month warranty on workmanship from the completion date
• Warranty covers defects in our work, not normal wear and tear
• Warranty void if third parties make modifications
• Hardware warranties as per manufacturer specifications
7. PROJECT TIMELINE AND DELAYS
7.1 Timelines
• Estimated completion dates are provided in good faith
• Timelines may be affected by material availability and unforeseen circumstances
• We will communicate any delays promptly
7.2 Force Majeure
• We are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond our control
• This includes but is not limited to weather, material shortages, labour disputes, or government restrictions
8. HEALTH AND SAFETY
8.1 Site Safety
• We maintain comprehensive public liability insurance
• All work performed to current health and safety standards
• Client is responsible for providing safe working conditions
• Any hazardous materials discovered will be reported immediately
8.2 Compliance
• All work complies with relevant building regulations
• Client is responsible for obtaining necessary permits where required
• We will advise on regulatory requirements, but final responsibility lies with the client
9. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
9.1 Design Rights
• Original designs remain the property of Shay Joinery Ltd
• Client receives a license to use the designs for the agreed project only
• Reproduction of designs for commercial purposes is prohibited without written consent
9.2 Portfolio Use
• We reserve the right to photograph completed work for portfolio purposes
• Client may request exclusion from marketing materials
• No interior spaces photographed without explicit permission
10. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
10.1 Liability Limits
• Our liability is limited to the contract value for any single project
• We are not liable for consequential or indirect damages
• Liability excludes loss of profits, business interruption, or data loss
10.2 Insurance
• We maintain appropriate trade and public liability insurance

• Client advised to check their insurance coverage
11. CANCELLATION AND REFUNDS
11.1 Cancellation by Client
• Cancellation is possible before work commences with 48 hours’ notice
• Deposit refundable minus design costs and material ordering fees
• No refunds once work has commenced on-site
11.2 Cancellation by Us
• We may cancel for non-payment or breach of terms
• We may cancel if site conditions are unsafe or unsuitable
• Full refund of payments if cancellation is our decision
12. COMPLAINTS AND DISPUTES
12.1 Complaint Procedure
• Initial complaints should be made in writing within 7 days
• We aim to resolve complaints within 15 working days
• Independent mediation is available if required
12.2 Governing Law
• These Terms are governed by English law
• Disputes subject to the jurisdiction of the English courts
